SUMMARY: Performs general maintenance to augment the full-time workforce.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:

  • General maintenance of grounds and facilities including, but not limited to, grass cutting, janitorial work, litter removal and construction projects.
  • Operates hand and small power tools.
  • Operates various maintenance equipment (large mowing machines, weed whackers, etc.) over rough roads and uneven terrain.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and buildings.
  • Operates large mowing machines and various trucks.
  • Ability to complete small jobs in related qualifies trades area.
  • Assists in repairs, alterations, additions, etc.
  • May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job. More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

  • High school student or higher education required.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers’ License if operating a vehicle.
  • Ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods in various adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to complete written reports.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unaided (repetitively) and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
