On-site Sewage Disposal Facilities 
The Bucks County Health Department administers the On-site Sewage Program through its "Rules and Regulations Governing Individual and Community On-Lot Sewage Disposal Systems". Copies of the Rules & Regulations are available at the Health Department District Offices, or by clicking on the link below.

On-site permits and inspections
The Health Department issues on-site sewage permits for new and repair sewage disposal systems including conventional septic systems, spray irrigation systems, drip irrigation systems, holding tanks, and other alternate and experimental systems that are not covered under 
PA Code, Title 25, Chapter 73.

Requests for soil testing for a new system on vacant land (SA-52 below), or a request for a repair/malfunction on an existing lot (SA-53 below) can be made by obtaining (or downloading) and completing the request form and submitting it with the appropriate fee (see SA-71 Fee Schedule below) to the Health Department. 

Requests for holding tank permits must include a completed "Holding Tank Agreement" (SA-56 below)", and possibly an "Agreement for Temporary Holding Tank Approval" (SA-57 below).

When a property is sold, the new owners of the property will need to complete an "Application for Transfer of On-Site Sewage Disposal System Permit" (SA-51 below) to have the existing sewage permit put into their name.

The Department responds to written complaints of malfunctioning on-site sewage systems. All Environmental Complaints must be in writing.

Licensure of Sewage Pumping and Disposal Vehicles
To obtain a Sewage Hauling License, complete form "Application for Licensing of Sewage Transportation Vehicles Pumping, Hauling or Transportation of Liquid or Solid Sewage Waste Materials" (SA-20 below). The form needs to be received by the Main Office of the Health Department in Doylestown before the end of August each year. Dates will be scheduled in September for sewage hauler vehicles to be inspected in Levittown, Doylestown, Quakertown and at the Landfill weigh station in Falls Township. The appropriate fee is listed on the ADM-71 Fee Schedule below (Sewage Waste Hauling Vehicle Operating License).
