Farmers Market Program for Seniors

Blooming Glen Farmers MarketOnce again, the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging is teaming with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to supply Bucks County Seniors with nutritional food from local farmers markets. The program provides $20.00 in FREE vouchers to eligible individuals and $40.00 for eligible couples, for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets.

Vouchers are available at senior centers until September 30, 2019 while supplies last. Persons unable to attend a senior center may designate a person by calling the Area Agency on Aging at 267-880-5700 for a proxy form.

SENIORS MUST BE 60 or older by December 31st of the program year and meet the income guidelines found at www.agriculture.pa.gov as stated below. Each eligible recipient receives four (4) $5 program checks. You must reside in Bucks County.

The 2019 household income eligibility is: 
1 person - $23,107  4 people - $47,638 
2 people - $31,284  5 people - $55,815 
3 people - $39,461  6 people - $63,992 

Bristol Amish Farmers MarketIncome means income before any deductions such as income taxes, Social Security taxes, insurance premiums, charitable contributions, bonds, etc. Seniors who live in nursing home facilities, convents and residential facilities where meals are provided are not eligible. ** Please note: Child support IS counted as household income, unless the child is a foster child.
